FETISHWEEK: New Year New Format

It’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing FETISHWEEK for over a year now.  I’ve had a lot of fun with this project and I’ve had a lot of positive feedback too.

As my sources and contacts have grown, so has the size of FETISHWEEK. As someone who consumes a lot of information, I understand how important it is to make things quicker and easier to consume.  I also want to provide more of my own insights and focus on the most important articles, people and issues.

I’ve paired things down while also adding a lot of information.  So, it’s both less and more.  Tell me what you think in the comments section below.

Also, remember that I’m looking for your stories to share with the public.  Contact me with what is happening with you or with your local BDSM community.

Dream hard,

How Do I Tell My Doctor I’m Kinky? Part 1 | Madison Kink

 http://madisonkink.com/how-do-i-tell-my-doctor-im-kinky-part-1/

Dr. Dan with Madison Kink has written the first part of a three-part series on talking to your doctor about being kinky.  This is the type of first-class articles that Madison Kink offers regularly (I contributed my own article there recently).  Where else can you find articles that discuss talking to your doctor about BDSM?

This is such an important topic and exactly the type of thing that you probably won’t learn about unless you are deep in the BDSM community or read a lot of books on the subject.  You absolutely should have that conversation with your doctor now, instead of trying to explain why your ass is bruised the next time you get an injection.

Madison Kink should be applauded for offering such important and helpful information.  Read the article above and look around, there’s quality on that site.  Keep up with their articles by joining them on Twitter.

The Future of S&M – Clarisse Thorne

http://clarissethorn.com/blog/2012/12/07/the-future-of-sm/

Author of The S&M Feminist Clarisse Thorne has a post on how things have changed recently, mostly regarding the acceptance of BDSM in the collective consciousness.  This is a topic that is very near and dear to my heart and something that I write about here frequently.  She’s got an excellent grasp on some big ideas and highly suggest you check it out.  Read the comments too, it’s well worth the extra time.  You can catch Clarisse Thorne on Twitter here.

Porn Becomes Harder to Find Using Google Image Search – XBIZ Newswire

http://newswire.xbiz.com/view.php?id=157571&utm_source=buffer&buffer_share=1226d

I follow a lot of Search Engine Optimization and Google seems to be going through a frenetic period of algorithm updates.  If you’ve noticed that your search for “hot booty” is not giving you stellar results, this is from just one small set of tweaks that Google has been making lately.  I don’t see how this has improved anyone’s life, they already have filtering features.  Google’s misguided quest to stay ahead of Bing is ruining their search engine.

AVN – Study Questions “Damaged Goods” Theory for Porn Actresses

http://business.avn.com/articles/video/Study-Questions-Damaged-Goods-Theory-for-Porn-Actresses-495462.html

A new study kicks the shit out of the conventional wisdom that porn actresses come from a “damaged past”.  Porn actresses are not more likely to have sexual abuse in their background.  Additionally their current quality of life and self-esteem is much better than the control group.

Sex Feed: Kinky University – College Campus BDSM Clubs « Culture « Sex and Society

http://www.edenfantasys.com/sexis/sex-society/sex-feed-kinky-university/

Sexis Magazine looks at a new trend around the United States… BDSM clubs are growing across colleges from coast-to-coast.  Universities are increasingly doing research and providing a forum for discussion about BDSM as well.  I certainly didn’t have a BDSM Club when I went to the University of Oklahoma!  If you want to fight the college drop-out rate, it sure beats the Chess Club!

Tatjana Warnecke: Berlin Fetish Style

http://www.skintwo.co.uk/tatjana-warnecke-berlin-fetish-style/

No one knows fetish fashion like Skin Two and kudos to them for giving us this article on Tatjana Warnecke.  This work looks like it was designed for some sci-fi film; it’s complex and highly original.  I’d highly suggest dropping by their website to see more.

Let’s laugh at stupid boys… | Mistress T

http://mistresst.wordpress.com/2012/12/11/lets-laugh-at-stupid-boys/

If you’d like a glimpse into the type of inappropriate messages that a hot dominatrix/fetish model receives, then look no further than this post from Mistress T.  Since I do fetish photography and promotion for professional dominatrix, I can tell you that all dominatrix get a steady stream of this shit and the intelligence of the messages is inversely proportional to how attractive the domme is.

By the way, since we’re on the subject, Mistress T always has interesting things to say and shares a lot of great photos and insight.  You can see more at her blog or follow her through the Mistress T account on Twitter.

Bondage 101: What Every Beginner Needs to Know ~ GetLusty for Couples

http://getlusty.blogspot.com/2012/12/bondage-101-what-every-beginner-needs.html

Get Lusty has some simple ideas on how to bring bondage into your relationship.  They stress safety, but I’m going to say that bondage is just the sort of thing you should stay away from if your experience level involves recently reading “Fifty Shades of Grey”.  If you read that article and it piques your interest I’d advise finding a local bondage or BDSM community group.  There are also some excellent books on the subject from Midori and the Two Knotty Boys.

  1. Hey Dirk! Thanks for the mention. Just want to clarify that the post you linked to is for a piece about responses to my personal online dating site profile. Those who responded (who I quoted) didn’t even know I was a Domme…believe me, I get loads of bizarre emails from guys mailing ‘Mistress T’ the Dominatrix porn performer too.
    Great blog, as always.
