It’s been nearly a decade since I launched DirkHooper.com.  It was the first website that I bought and the website where I learned how to do web design.  In those first few years, before all my other ventures, I always updated and experimented with how the site functioned.  I learned a lot and had a lot of fun sharing my work with you in new and exciting ways.

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how the internet has changed over the past decade.  My own involvement with the internet has changed radically too.  In the last ten years I’ve created at least 30 websites, many of which I still maintain, and I’m now involved in podcasting, social networking and news aggregation.  The power and wonder of the web has definitely not passed me by, but somewhere along the way DirkHooper.com got left behind.  I’ve basically been running a static, web 1.0 site up until now.

As you can see, that’s all changed now!  I have updated and upgraded this site in every way imaginable.  I’m running this site on a WordPress platform, which allows me to update content easier than ever before (which means more updates, photos, news, etc.).  It will also give me a way to update the look and function of the site without having to completely redo every page.

The most important change though, comes with the addition of interactivity that’s possible with this new website.  You can share your thoughts with me (and please do) on every page.  I can easily send posts to Twitter or Facebook, and so can you.  The possibilities with this new platform are nearly endless!

One last thing, and maybe this is the most important, I’ve been secretly working on some of my older photos over the past year to get ready for this re-launch.  Over the past couple of months I’ve been working on converting this site.  Since that’s all behind me, now I’ll be working on new photos and new articles to present here (or on ToxicGoddess.com).  It’s been a long road to do this right, but now the fun begins!

Take a look around and tell me what you think about the new site below.  It’s easier now than ever before.

Dream hard,
